According to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) more than one out of four people 65 and older fall every year, and over 3 million are treated in emergency departments for fall injuries.
We can do our part to help prevent these falls. As Falls Prevention Week 2020 kicks off this week, as providers, caregivers, family and friends of older adults, we play an important role in preventing these devastating falls. The CDC’s STEADI Initiative includes three elements to reduce fall risk: Screen, Assess, and Intervene.
